This isn’t a list of recommendations, simply a collection of my own food & dining experiences in Bangkok. A short look at most, though not all, of the places I visited & the meals I had along the way ( To be updated soon )

Baan nual 🇹🇭

This is, without a doubt, the best restaurant ( Hardest to book ) in Thailand. Everything is done with the right balance, backed by genuine passion and dedication. There’s a clear sense of purpose behind the cooking, yet nothing feels forced or overworked. The food speaks for itself, and the experience as a whole is difficult to fault.

Baan lamiye 🇹🇭

A hidden spot with a speakeasy feel. The chef was warm, welcoming, and happy to adjust a few dishes for us. The Pad Thai was unique , it had a pickled longan fruit ( lamyai ) , the stuffed chicken wings were excellent as well, and the brown and jasmine rice combination was a great touch.

Krua apsorn 🇹🇭

Casual place that have since expanded , this was the original location , the grounds was dirty but the food was good , it’s a decent Thai place but perhaps its best for now to try the more hygienic mall editions of it

Si Sawat - 🇹🇭

Charming, The menu, presentation, and aesthetics are all there , Steak and crab rice were the highlight ; the green curry was the biggest disappointment. but the star dish was the omelette

Jaan saneh 🇹🇭

The dishes stayed true to classic recipes but were presented with a modern touch. There was a royal cuisine feel to the meal, & the setting felt more like a place for a date than somewhere I’d settle in for a relaxed meal. The effort behind it is clear, but I think it appeals more to tourists who value presentation & the overall experience than those who are primarily focused on the food itself.

100 Mahaseth 🥩

with lots of hype with their bone marrow I went there expecting something but ended up in rather a neutral or disappointing experience instead

Baan pad Thai

When I saw crab pad Thai on the menu i couldn’t resist , though I wasn’t impressed nor disappointed , I thought the place was neat and had a great concept , I wouldn’t mind dining here again

Gaggan 🇮🇳

Gaggan is more of a politician than a chef , he knows how to rub the right people to win awards , with that said his restaurants definitely do not reflect on all the accolades they are gimmicky , overstated and self centered about his character rather than the food he serves

Wolfgang 🇺🇸

Typical western steakhouse with great classics , the crab cakes , steak & Caesar salad were all done as one would expect , simple and good

NOI Samrub eatery 🇹🇭

Everything that one can expect from a gastrobar can find it here , Thai style taverna with top quality local comfort dishes, the crab omelette was done with care & precision , as were the Prawns & Chicken wings , all of that on a buildings roof top with a spectacular view

Somboon 🇹🇭

If you’re into crab shells with minimal flesh , this is the place , a tourist trap at best with multiple chains .

Hong bao 🇨🇳

Nice Chinese restaurant in central embassy , the savory dishes were good but what stood out were the mango baos , real delight

The never ending summer 🇹🇭

Lovely casual Thai eatery in the side of River , next to icon Siam , great options and plenty of delightful dishes , what stood out though was the flat crab omelette

Kua klub kua 🇹🇭

For a mall restaurant this place ticks the box for generic Thai meals , decent crab rice , crab omelette and other dishes that can be universally appealing

Penthouse steakhouse

Located at Park Hyatt with stunning views and vibes , this place truly has wonderful settings but when it comes to the steak , it was mid at best

Sri trat 🇹🇭

One of the best northern Thai cuisines , specially their crab dishes were splendid
It’s one of the places I’d always go to in Bangkok, exceptional service in a home like settings makes all things worthwhile

thip Samai 🇹🇭

The OG Phad Thai , lovely sweet and sour noodles with prawns , and add to that the most incredible orange juice , this place settles all the debates on this dish ,

Homeberg 🍔

Burgers are burgers , upscaling them , making them fancy or elevating them into a gourmet level almost never works , the meat here felt plain , tasteless but there’s element of attention to it

Four seasons 🇨🇳

not the hotel , rather a Chinese mall chain , I think from the uk . It’s decent for what it serves , cheap Chinese comfort food

Sushi Ichizu 🇯🇵

Excellent choice for sushi when in Bangkok , edomae with great quality of fish directly imported from toyosu market , with a chef riku toda ( now back in Japan ) that had trained under both Sugita & Mizutani

Bo lan 🇹🇭

Bo Lan is a long standing English Thai couple institution , the meal leans towards gimmicks as it was a product of its time , but it also caters to everyone , however it’s not something I’d go out of my way for now days

baan nai 🇹🇭

set in a colonial house , this restaurant was very charming in its decor and feel , but didn’t get past this or translate anything else on the table , the food was average at best & frankly nothing to remember

Nahm 🇹🇭

At one point it was the darling of Asia , but that to was a successful PR campaign , the meal was decent but nothing extraordinary .

Eat me

This place has good food , at least at the time , decent steak , great hospitality . The theme seems to be largely Gay , probably where the name comes from ? I could be wrong , but that said it’s a solid mean to have when in Bangkok

Muek Mun Kai Chicken Rice - 🇹🇭 🇸🇬

Humble eatery with Delicious This Style Rice Chicken , it was simple and making simple things great is the hardest task

Joel Robuchon 🇫🇷

usually the standards of Robuchon is standardized world wide , here however the quality was below par , maybe my expectations were high but however way I look at it , can’t justify

Suppanigga - 🇹🇭

The name may be controversial but it’s not intended , the place is ideal for those with a keen taste towards spicy Thai food , as for me the highlight was the Thai Tea Pudding

Prime steakhouse

One of the most reliable steakhouses in BKK , classical atmosphere and lovely straight forward cuts , an old school institution with a stunning view

Trattoria Appia 🇮🇹

Dining here was special , I have made several attempts and finally secured a booking , everyone is friendly , and every customer seems happy , the food was Roman to its core , and the staff couldn’t be any nicer .

Erawan tea room

One of the most charming places in the building adjacent to Grand Hyatt , the place has been here for years , it may not be top quality but always satisfying , as for me it always has this nostalgia attached to it

Isaya Siamese club

Gimmicks Galore at Isaya , it was perhaps a product of its time back when nitrogen’s were a thing but not anymore , it’s outdated by now and worthy of being shelved

Prachak Roasted Duck

Probably charming from the outside but nothing great about it , the place serves Duck and noodles done in the most Thai way possible , it’s a decent place but within context of cheap eatery

Soei 🇹🇭

Authentic , Genuine & Humble eatery, the food here is straightforward . I would have enjoyed it more had they offered more non spicy options but from what I could eat it was delicious . worth a visit when in Thailand For the Mackarel heads alone

Thong smith Boat Noodles 🇹🇭 🍜

Can’t go wrong here , boat noodle soup in the famous river markets served in a more hygienic mall setup , the dishes are refreshing and pleasant

Kam’s Roast Goose - 🪿

Nothings nice about Gamey goose meat no matter where I try , yet I always give it a second chance out of curiosity , though this place may be cleanest of them all

Jumbo Yakiniku 🇯🇵

One of the best Yakiniku spots in Japan opened in Bangkok , at first I was it may not be able to live up to the high sets of standards but that fear was quickly dismissed . The quality is almost identical, with little room to perfectly improve

Trattoria Gigilio 🇮🇹

The closest thing to Florence outside Italy , this one is in Bangkok of all places . The picci pasta was great , and the Bistecca was as good as it gets . The best part was Manuel , he was a great host , & to my surprise the price was within reason

PST

Genuinely surprised by the level of quality here , it’s superior to the original branch in Tokyo , or at least what have become of it . Definitely has old PST quality written all over it .

Smizzle 🍔

For a mall or fast food standards this burger was surprisingly good , I’d be glad to eat here again if craving a quick burger fix

Kanori Hand Roll - 🍣

While the rice was seasoned too perfection , right blend of vinegar , and the nori crisp , the rest fell apart in terms of quality . The ottoro was like chewing a rough yet buttery stick with hard ligaments, and the Akami was lean and as tough as a two dollar steak .

Kao Nom 🍨

This place has Japanese Shokunin precision all over it , the rice milk tea and rice soft serve had unique flavors , those that can’t be found anywhere . Everything was perfect , service included
